I wouldn't stay here again. The only things I liked were the location near the city centre and having a washing machine. Our attic room on the top floor was stiflingly hot. The roof windows wouldn't open, and the tiny fan just pushed the hot air around. The floor was dirty and the sheets had a few stains. Upstairs, the bathroom drains were clogged with hair and black grime in the shower. Water covered the floor in puddles, so we had to use the bathroom downstairs. We told the host right away, but got no reply during our three-night stay, and the bathroom wasn't properly cleaned. There were bits of mould, cobwebs and exposed wires around the property. There’s no elevator, so expect to carry bags up two floors and then another steep flight if you're put in the attic. The stairs up there smelled stale, like old cigarettes. I'd avoid this place and pay a bit more.

The bathroom was disgusting. The shower head was broken, so you had to hold it, and the clogged drain quickly turned the shower into a gross pool. There were wet towels on the shared bathroom floor every day, along with mud that stayed there the whole time. The other toilet leaked from above whenever it was flushed. Towels were stained and gross, and one side of the bed was almost folded in while I was lying on it. I had booked a single room, but it hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. There were clipped nails on the floor, wet towels hanging around, used sheets, dirty dishes and a full bin. We eventually found clean sheets and towels in a downstairs closet and changed the sheets ourselves. They said the contact number was available until 22:00, but I got no reply during my five-day stay. I didn't see a single staff member in those five days, just confused guests. Nobody cleaned, restocked toilet paper or helped with check-in. The entrance was always unlocked, so anyone with the building code could walk in. The hostel also didn't send the entry code in advance, making it hard to get in, and there were homeless people at the door.

A lovely stay, everything went smoothly. The hotel is in the Jewish quarter, with Jewish shops all around, kosher restaurants and lots of Jewish religious sites to visit. I shared the hotel with five Israelis who were vacationing after hard work in Israel.

The apartment was just as described, clean and comfortable, and right in the heart of the city with the main attractions easy to reach. The host was very responsive, accommodating, ready to help and understanding. I'd recommend this apartment.

For about 9€ a night, this was a real bargain for what you get, especially given how cheap and central it is. We never cooked or used the kitchen ourselves, though our flatmates did and it seemed fine. I wanted to get drunk, see Budapest with my friends and spend as little as possible, and this place worked perfectly. Everything's walkable, or you can grab a scooter from the parking zone just outside if you're feeling lazy. After a club night, we could pick up a kebab on the way back and wake up ready to explore. Before arrival, my buddies and I read the reviews and got worried about bed bugs. We'd booked first, then tried to cancel, but couldn't, so we decided to check it out. We followed the email instructions, unlocked the door and found a lingering rubbing alcohol smell, which we took as a good sign. We checked the whole place, including beds and bathroom, thoroughly for vermin and found nothing. Maybe it's not a problem anymore? The sound isolation isn't great, and the beds are right by street-facing windows, though headphones make it manageable. During my December 2023 stay, one mattress had an unreal deep hollow that made it feel like I was stuck halfway through a sit-up. Maybe some fat hunchback drilled a hole there in their sleep. Some people seem to have unrealistic standards for this place.
