The only thing I was glad about was that the room was warm. The man’s hospitality was poor, too. He came across as rude and arrogant, speaking to us like he dealt with 50 people every day and we owed him something. I won’t even get into the cleanliness and renovation issues. The walls on the -1 floor look ready to collapse. The cutlery and plates were dirty, and some old cupboards (?) had layers of dust, as if they’d been there since the Soviet era. The windows and showers were very old, and the bed linens were washed and dried in less than ideal conditions.

The rooms are acceptable for the price, and the value is fair. The common areas, though, aren’t very clean. I also found the receptionist really unfriendly and disrespectful to customers, which made the stay unpleasant. Be aware that they only take cash for the room, though this isn’t mentioned anywhere.

For a budget hostel, the private room was clean, as were the toilet and shower, and the location was fantastic. The owner or worker was friendly. The beds were very hard, almost like sleeping on wood. I’d happily pay a little more for new beds. The walls are also thin, so you hear every sound and movement from other guests, though it’s not a big problem unless you end up with difficult roommates.

I was bitten by bedbugs and had a severe allergic reaction, which sent me to the emergency room. The owner admitted there was a bedbug problem in rooms 21 and 22, and I think there’s a high chance the whole place is infested. I’m attaching photos, and you can fill in the rest of the picture yourself. The shared areas were dirty and in very bad condition. The owner also doesn’t reply to emails and pretends he can’t speak a word of English. The health department should inspect the place. The surrounding area didn’t feel very good either. We were two women, and a man actually tried to sneak into our room through the window. Thankfully, there were bars. If you have the chance, never stay at this hostel. Worst experience ever.
