We booked through Lastminute.com, the WORST service I've ever had. And the accommodation itself was a nightmare. The only thing worth mentioning in its favor was its position in the city center. Everything else was shitty crap, from the building itself to the rooms and location. The building's elevator looked like something from the ADDAMS family, smashed up, rusty, creepy, and completely unsafe. The main host kept misleading people, even when we asked where the nearest luggage storage was: they only gave us information about a main one that was actually closed, apparently for good. We paid ten euros per hour for an early check-in because our plane got us there three hours before the usual check-in time. But the cleaning company hadn't come, and our room was a mess. There was garbage and dirty stuff everywhere, the used bedclothes were still piled in the middle of our bed, and there was hair all over the bathroom and on our mattress. After an unpleasant call, they gathered their staff, but we had to go up and down the stairs twice with our 20 KG bags while waiting for the room to be cleaned, then come back later. The bed was still so full of hair, dust, and leftovers from the previous guests that we had to use our own bed linen and towels. We also used bug killer spray because we didn't want to risk getting bitten or infected by that awful little ecosystem. There's more I could say, but the way they behaved says enough.

For a decent price, this was a decent hostel, and the location is great, close to everything. The owner was attentive to our questions. We did run into some issues, though I guess no hostel is perfect. Would I come back? Definitely!

The room's design was lovely and surprised us, and we had a big private bathroom. The hostel was clean and in an amazing spot, right in the heart of Budapest, just 100 m from the New York Cafe (hotel). There's no reception, but communication with the very nice owner went well. I liked being able to check ourselves in and out. There's also a kitchen with nice-looking appliances, though we didn't use it. The shower needs some improvements, and a hairdryer in the bathroom would be a plus. The elevator often doesn't work, but that's not their fault.

We had a private room with three beds and its own bathroom. The host was friendly and pleasant, and helped us book city cabs and gave us directions for the Sziget festival 2018. Our room had a beautiful view, and there were lots of places to eat beside the hostel, along with a SPAR for everyday needs. The rooms are clean and pretty.

I had to book somewhere else at the last minute after a frustrating stay here. Staff were rude and wouldn't help, and they rejected my complaints even when I showed proper proof. This is one of the worst properties to book in Budapest, and I'd tell people to avoid it at any cost. It isn't a hostel as advertised, but a tiny apartment with 3-4 rooms and a shared bathroom. There's no check-in desk, and the check-in instructions were incomplete and wrong. The keys weren't where they were supposed to be, and no wifi password was provided. After several calls, staff told me the password verbally, but it was wrong and didn't work, leaving me without working internet. I'd avoid this misleading place and look for better options in Budapest.
