Equity Point Budapest - Hostel

This is one of the town’s best places, and the location is incredible. The bathroom condition felt unreliable, though. The elevator wasn’t working, and access to the balcony was restricted for security reasons.

Being right in Atoria is great. The building is kind of interesting and well equipped, and it seems every room gets natural light. Not sure why my upper bunk had no ladder, though. The receptionists are chill, no problem. Not bad for a solo stay. Recommend.

Equity Point Budapest was an absolutely terrible experience. We arrived right at the 3:00 PM check-in time, exhausted after a sleepless night and walking around the city since early morning. We only needed a shower and some rest, but were told to wait because of vague technical issues. More than 30 minutes passed without an explanation, an update, or an apology, even as other guests checked in without trouble. Then a large group arrived and was given priority immediately. It felt like our booking didn’t matter. When we asked again, staff couldn’t say when, or whether, we would get a room. It was unprofessional and disrespectful. We had to contact Booking.com and spent over 2 hours sorting things out just to get a refund. By then we’d lost valuable time and energy, and had to urgently find another place, which cost more and was less convenient. Asking for a €50 deposit while failing to provide basic service is ridiculous. This was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had, and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

It’s very central and handy for exploring, with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The bed was comfortable, but I’d rather get breakfast at a bakery. The food here wasn’t very good and there wasn’t much of it. In bathroom 102, there’s mold on the ceiling, the bed has no ladder, and the window is missing a handle.
