Erik Apartments

I stayed here three years ago, and it was really awful. Seeing other people’s reviews now, I can’t tell whether the place was left especially dirty and full of cigarette smoke for our group of four. It was impossible to air it out during the two nights we stayed, even though it was nearly 40 degrees and we kept every possible door and window open. It’s a shame because it’s hard to find somewhere nearby with four single beds, as most places only offer doubles. After that experience, though, we’ll never come back.

The host was friendly and helpful, and the clean, furnished apartment was good value. We chose it because Barba Negra Track was within walking distance, and I’d book it again anytime. The apartments are in a different location from what the map shows, so contact the host before arrival. The main drawback was the lack of free parking. Parking nearby is quite expensive, 350HUF per hour from 8am to 6pm, especially for a longer stay.

It’s a convenient, affordable place to stay with easy access to work. There are nice spots to explore nearby, more bridges to walk across, boats to ride, and trams to travel the length of Budapest.

The host was friendly, and dogs are welcome. The place is well kept and sits in a really central spot.
