Eurostars Danube Budapest

Outstay was lovely. The hotel is attractive and right in the city center, so we could easily walk wherever we wanted. Our rooms looked like the photos, were quiet, and were very nice. The staff were friendly, and borrowing one of their large umbrellas was a thoughtful touch. Parking was hard to figure out, and I wish they’d provided directions. You can drive down the street even though it seems like you can’t. The parking entrance has a gate, so you need to call, but nobody answered when we did. We had to walk in first.

The location is the main plus, very close to the center. Breakfast was passable, but the waiters seemed distracted and often didn’t top up the food. Cleanliness in the rooms left a lot to be desired, and housekeeping was unpleasant at checkout, knocking on the door half an hour early. That felt disrespectful. Nothing else stood out, and I wouldn’t stay again. At this price, there are much better options with better service.

The hotel itself was nice, but checkout left a terrible impression. We asked reception to arrange an airport taxi. On the way to the hotel we’d paid 95,000 HUF, while for the return trip the driver demanded 37 EUR. We then saw him get out with a 7-euro “commission” and hand it directly to the receptionist. It looked like we’d been overcharged by about 50%, taking advantage of our trust as guests. Unprofessional and deeply disappointing.

The location is good and the rooms are very clean. Nice hotel, though the breakfast is average for a hotel.
