The location was excellent, and most of the staff were kind, helpful, and professional. We were a group of six, with two more rooms at the hotel, and I appreciate the effort the rest of the team made. Still, after this stay I wouldn’t choose the hotel again. The biggest problem was the heat. In winter the whole hotel was kept at a minimum of 24°C, and none of us could turn down or control the heating or air conditioning. It was far too hot to sleep during our four nights, and it seriously affected our rest and the trip. I called the front desk several times the first night from the room and my own phone, using the number on the hotel website, but nobody answered. After another sleepless night, I went to reception at 8:00 AM. Patrishka told me to open a window. I explained that my room faced the main street, where the noise made sleeping impossible, and her response was basically that that’s how it is. When I asked for a manager, she pointed me to an email address on a business card. I sent a detailed message and never heard back. For me, being unreachable when guests have a problem is a deal breaker, and a good night’s sleep is a basic expectation. There was another practical problem: most of the electrical outlets in our room didn’t work. We had just one usable socket near a bed, so charging devices was difficult and I couldn’t properly use my laptop. The other two rooms had the same outlet and heating problems too. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The beds are big and comfortable, and at first glance the place looks good. But it feels worn and needs a renovation, with too many little problems for a normal four-star hotel. I’d give it three stars at most, maybe less. The room’s “minibar” was just a warm cupboard. Even drinks brought in ice cold turned warm within an hour or two, so calling it a minibar feels like false advertising. The heating was set to 32°C, and the control panel barely worked. In the middle of winter we had to open the windows because the room quickly felt like a sauna. The city has thermal baths for anyone who wants extreme heat.

We had a business meeting here and needed a place on short notice. I asked just 25 hours before it started, and they sorted everything out, including the prints, tape, and other bits we needed. We had a quiet area with, I think, five rooms for the meeting, and the price was very reasonable. The chairs were good for our eight-hour Zoom meeting. We ran over schedule, but they didn’t charge extra. We brought our own computers and internet line, so I can’t comment on those. The staff were helpful, with three people around in the evening and a very good young woman on the night shift. Special thanks to them. Breakfast was very good, though busy, and it’s a stylish new kind of hotel in a great spot, about 50? meters from the metro. We didn’t have a room, but the form required me to rate that too, so I did, at the same level as the other two.

The room was simply furnished and clean, with a little minibar where the items cost extra. Tea and coffee were free, including decaf. I only stayed one night, and the hotel itself was a pleasant, interesting experience. As a woman traveling alone, though, I didn’t feel especially comfortable on the street in the late afternoon. It was dark and had several empty shops. The TV only had Hungarian channels, with no streaming options.
