I stayed three nights in an apartment managed by Harmony Apartments. It was comfortable for one person and could work for a couple too. The location deserves five stars: it's easy to reach from all parts of Budapest, with buses, trams, and the metro within walking distance. The room was comfortable, and check-in was self-service. I booked through Booking.com at a very reasonable price. The company representative on WhatsApp was helpful and took care of my requests. The Booking.com chat staff, though, weren't as helpful and were rude when responding. The bathroom and kitchenette were clean. The bed mattress wasn't especially comfortable, but it was manageable. I'd recommend this for solo travelers or couples. Great location!

For the price and location, I'd give it two stars. If you don't mind walking, the city-center spot is great, with several historic sites within walking distance. The apartment is actually a ground-floor room with a bathroom and a poorly equipped kitchenette, and there's no wardrobe. It's owned by Budapest Historic Apartments, whose office is on another street. When we asked a young blonde lady and two other staff members whether we could check in before 3 p.m. rather than wait a few hours, they were very impolite. Barbie and Marti (Martin?) at reception were the only polite ones.

The place was really dirty. Dust covered everything, the walls were filthy, and there was a huge hole in the door at the back. Beside the bed there was another huge hole, big enough for even a rat to get through. Outside the door, a table was left with empty water bottles, other rubbish, and cigarettes. It felt like living in a cage. My friend and I couldn't work out how to lock the door, which had a specific method they hadn't explained, and we were scared. They didn't answer our calls or messages for more than 24 hours, so we had no idea what to do. There was only one towel for the two of us, and it hadn't been cleaned. The window only had a curtain, so anyone walking past could see us clearly.
