Home Plus Hostel

The good parts for me were the fair price, breakfast being included, and the bed setup. Curtains and wooden dividers made my bed feel like its own little space, and the rooms were dark, which I didn't mind. It's also near the olpmic park, the parliament and the riverside. The staff were friendly, although the place felt unprofessional, and I wondered if they'd moved because the house number was different and the photos didn't look current. There were a lot of noise issues. Reception was right outside my room, while the kitchen and common area were just down the corridor. People checking in, playing music on the sofas, or cooking could all be heard in my room. It felt like being in a big shared flat, and I couldn't really take an afternoon nap or have a quiet stay. I also didn't like how small the bathroom sinks were.

Breakfast was included in the reasonable price, though it was pretty average. There was also a kitchen and common room, and most staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good stay at Home Plus Hostel. It's a bit farther from the center than some other places, but still walkable to most Budapest sights. The dorm beds had curtains on the lower bunks, which is always a nice touch. With the stop right outside, there was a lot of street noise if the windows were open.

I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. The room had plenty of dust on the floor and under the bed, and I was robbed even though I'd rented the room just for myself and it was locked. There were no signs of physical force on the doors. The hostel says it isn't responsible for losses, so I'd keep a close eye on belongings and not assume a closed door is enough. The reception staff were nice, and the location is convenient, near the river, the center, and other attractions.

The price makes it a decent option, and the receptionists were lovely and helpful. The location is nice, near the river and not too far from the center. My main issue was that two of the three showers in my building drained badly, so you could end up standing in someone else's leftover water.
