Hotel Pólus

The staff were very friendly, and having a huge shopping center next door and a bus station right across the street was convenient. Breakfast was standard. It really wasn't all bad, but for a cheap hotel, you get what you pay for. There was just one elevator for hundreds of guests, the mattress was flat and rough, and we had no hot water for two of our three nights. The toilet seat came off after a day, and there was a lot of rust in the bathroom. We were also really disappointed that the pool was closed during our stay, and the TV didn't work.

The rooms were okay and clean, with central heating and reliably hot water in the showers. But breakfast had very little to choose from, and we found mold on parts of the inside walls. The furniture was old, and from the outside you can see how dated the hotel is, with green paint peeling off the walls. It's too far from the center of Budapest for us, and we're definitely not going back.

We found several bugs in our room, and the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should be in a 3 star Hotel. One night there was no warm water. Breakfast was really bad, with a bun, some kind of cheap salami, slices of cheap cheese, fried sausage, and similar things. Luckily there are lots of fast food places nearby, including pizzahut and mc Donald's. Worst 3 star hotel we've ever stayed in.

The room was dirty, there were holes in the sheets, the air con was broken, and the supposed hot water was barely warm. It was the worst hotel I've stayed in. I was booked for 2 nights but checked out after the first. The staff were very polite, though, and the guy at reception spoke great English.
