Mera Hotel

We slept really well here. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet and worked efficiently. The room was spacious and well equipped. Housekeeping topped up the tea and coffee, and changed our towels when we asked. Breakfast had a good mix of pastries and hot food, so I think there was something for everyone. All the service staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Check-in was easy, and the complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the station, close to a metro stop, and within walking distance of the main sights. You can leave your bags after checkout, though we didn’t need to. Five stars, and we’d definitely stay again.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and everything felt clean and cozy. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a lovely spot, and breakfast was delicious, especially the pastries and cakes.

The layout was the main challenge for us with a pram. The older building isn’t fully step-free, and reaching the lift meant climbing seven steps and getting through a door at the top each time. With a 3-month-old this was manageable because he was light, but I imagine it would have become more frustrating as he got older. We spent a weekend here with our baby and stayed three nights in a junior suite. The building was interesting, with an inner courtyard overlooked by some rooms and what seemed to be flats on the floors above. Staff were pleasant on arrival and showed us around the room and hotel. The suite suited us well: the sofa folded out into a second bed, and there was still room for the cot. It was cleaned very thoroughly every day and had everything we needed except an iron. I believe one, or an ironing service, could be requested. Breakfast was enjoyable on the first morning, but on the following days the hot food was lukewarm and soggy. The coffee machine only dispensed very small drinks, so I had to negotiate with it to get three Americanos for a full cup. The restaurant staff were lovely and doted on our little one, who seemed to be the hotel’s star.

We were there for four nights, and the service was consistently good. The room was comfortable and very clean. Trains and buses were easy to get to, and the famous parliament building was nearby, about a 10-minute walk.
