Nova Apartments Budapest

The staff at the 24/7 desk were all incredibly sweet, helpful, and nice. One gentleman suggested visiting Szentendre, which turned out to be magical. Many of the sights are within walking distance, and the apartment is lovely, even better than the pictures. The two terraces were great for morning coffee, the beds were comfortable, and having the shower and toilet in separate rooms worked really well for multiple guests. The air conditioning was great too. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We spent four nights in apartment 6 on the 5th floor of Nova Apartments Budapest, and it was one of our worst apartment stays. The one thing in its favor is the location, with some cafés and restaurants within walking distance, though the street itself wasn't nice or clean. We arrived late at night to a filthy apartment. There was hair on the beds and bathroom floor, dirty flooring, stained curtains and walls, and a sofa so disgusting we didn't want to sit on it. The furniture was old, damaged, and neglected. The kitchen was awful too: dirty cupboards, broken equipment, and a fridge that froze our groceries overnight because its freezer door was missing. The food we had bought was ruined. We complained the next day. They cleaned again, but it barely helped, and neither the fridge nor the coffee machine was fixed. They showed no concern about the spoiled groceries. When we tried raising the issue again, staff just told us to contact Booking.com with our complaints. The place needs proper cleaning staff and a complete renovation. It looked nothing like the pictures. Avoid it if cleanliness or comfort matters to you.

Anything we asked for was handled right away and professionally. For a low-budget hotel, the rooms were just right, with comfy beds and all the facilities we needed. It’s well placed near lots of pubs and restaurants, and transport is a two-minute walk away.

I couldn't get the balcony door to shut properly, so it felt like I was sleeping with a window open. The bathroom doors were damaged and wouldn't lock, with holes hidden by tape the same color as the doors. There were used condoms on the stairs between the apartments. At least the guests are using protection :)
