Souper Apartments Downtown

The apartment was large and okay, and the location and price were good. It wasn't very clean, though, and the furniture was old, so I'd give cleanliness just two stars. The assistance was very friendly whenever we needed anything.

Avoid Eagle eye dowtonw appartments, offered by Souper Appartments at Sas Utca 18. The flat was filthy, with stained, scuffed walls, dirty torn curtains, spiderwebs on the ceiling, and sheets that didn't cover the bed. The sheets looked and smelled like they might have been better sometime in the 20th century. The pillows were like cigarette paper, and the bathroom is best left undescribed. The building has seen better centuries, too. You have to climb one floor of stairs to reach the lift. It has no detector and bangs loudly if you don't get in quickly. Souper Appartmens treated us very badly. If you're choosing between this flat and sleeping under the bridge, don't hesitate. There's less humidity under the river bridge.

I spent six weeks here in July 2022, in one of their apartments on Kiraly Utca, in the same building as their office. It was a perfect place to stay, on the quieter stretch of Kiraly Utca but very close to cafes, bars, attractions, trams 2 and 4, metro stations, and buses. Some nights annoying drunk tourists made noise in the street, but the bedroom was pretty much soundproof, and the curtains made it cosy and dark for sleeping. The staff were really helpful. I booked with Béla and Emese checked me in. She was very kind and helpful, and even suggested places to explore in Hungary, which I really appreciated. There isn't a washing machine, but there are nearby laundrettes. The one I used charged 2,400 HUF for wash and dry, which wasn't so bad. My six weeks there were more than perfect. I miss living there already, definitely recommend it, and would return in a heartbeat.

What a scam. Don't rent from them. There wasn't enough heat in the apartment, and after one horrible, freezing night we had to leave. They made no alternative arrangement and gave no refund. They acted as if that was normal. Getting to the apartment was dangerous too, with a narrow hallway, a small ramp, and four flights of stairs with no elevator. Never book with them.
