I’ve never had a worse Airbnb stay. Dirt, dust, and unexplained stains were all over the place. The bathroom seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned for months, with hair in the shower, grime on the sink, and an air that was hard to breathe. Even the sheets felt questionable, so I didn’t feel okay sleeping there.

The rooms were bright, clean, and laid out well, and we thought the price was great. It’s in District VII, a young, hip area with lots of places to eat and the Ruin Bars nearby. We’d recommend it.

We were fined within the first hour because parking was such a mess. Otherwise, service was good, even though it was handled remotely. You can walk to everything, Budapest is a nice city, and there’s a 24/7 shop 50 meters from the accommodation.

We were given an apartment with two bedrooms and one bathroom, despite having booked three bedrooms and two bathrooms. We told the host it didn’t match our reservation, and they offered a refund. We agreed, but then couldn’t reach the host and the money wasn’t refunded. I’d think carefully before booking this apartment.

A few days before I was due to arrive, I couldn’t get hold of the host at all. I tried several messages, emails, and calls without any reply, and ended up stranded without a place to stay. It wrecked my travel plans and caused needless stress. That kind of communication and service is unacceptable. I’d advise people to look elsewhere, since you could be left without accommodation.
