Gulyás Vendégház

A handy spot for a short visit and very good value. The room and big bathroom were both clean, and the kitchen shared by five rooms had plenty of equipment. The one thing that bothered me was the uncovered east-facing window: I had to hang a blanket over it so the sunrise wouldn't wake me. The owners prefer German, though they understand some English as well.

The rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped, and the spa is about a 4 km drive away. The guesthouse is in a peaceful, park-filled part of Bük, with a neat and relaxing feel to the area. There's also a ruined old mill on the dam around 100 m away. The walk there is refreshing and feels close to nature.

We felt right at home, thanks in part to the very kind and helpful lady. The house is roomy, with parking in the yard, and it felt cozy and pleasantly scented inside. It's furnished in a modern style. Upstairs, wooden stairs lead to a large shared space that combines the kitchen and common room, with the apartments opening off it. Each apartment has a balcony and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. The number of beds varies with the apartment size. Thank you.

A peaceful place, though a little away from the city center, with an amazing nightly price. The owner is very helpful. German is preferred, which is normal around here because Austria is close, but you can manage. The cleanliness deserves praise. The small drawback is that air conditioning costs extra. Five stars if you're not demanding.
