Vital Hotel Nautis

The value was disappointing. I’ve seen much better family-friendly spa hotels for less. They charge a lot to start with, then almost everything costs extra, even though the place is in a sorry state, like the bowling alley. The facilities are only adequate when the hotel is half-empty. At 10:30 pm, there was nowhere to get a bottle of water because the bar was closed. The food was hit or miss, certainly not five-star. The rooms and comfort need work. They should have focused on adult-sized toilets instead of the odd bathroom tiling. There’s nowhere to dry towels except on balcony chairs. The balconies feel like a shared space, with little separation from your neighbour, and a full rope net that spoils the view, supposedly to control birds but not insects. Having no control over the AC feels very 1980s and isn’t enjoyable. Upkeep is mediocre, with just enough effort to make things passable. The outdoor water slide works only about half the time. Service wasn’t anything to write home about, and English can be a challenge. We asked for a taxi to the airport, then spent an hour and a half in the worst car ride ever and were charged double what it should have cost. They really need to look into their partners network.

The food was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable. It’s a nice hotel by the Valence lake, with small indoor and outdoor wellness pools, a jacuzzi, and a few saunas. The staff were very kind.

The staff were great and the food was very good. The wellness area is quite large for the size of the hotel. The only thing I wasn’t fully satisfied with was the steam cabin temperature. A little warmer would be better.

Everything was almost perfect until checkout. My husband and I had to manage our things with our two-and-a-half-year-old, and no one came to help. The receptionist didn’t seem willing to assist. We checked out at 10:00 a.m., but she said someone would come at 11:00 a.m.
