JUFA Vulkan Camping-Resort

A basic but comfortable hotel with good services, connected directly to the thermal bath and medical center.

We’d visited this campsite several times before and had been happy with the nice thermal pools, spacious grounds, and decent food. This visit was a disappointment. Groups arrived with trailers and were noisy late into the night, sometimes until 1 a.m. They occupied free pitches with cars, and some had trailers on one pitch and cars on another. Sleeping was difficult, and complaints didn’t make them stop. We reported it to reception. The administration warned them, but as soon as the staff member left, the noise started up again.

The room was low quality for the price, and the food was cheap and terrible. Both of us ended up on the toilet the next day. Service was poor, although a service charge was always included. The hotel and spa look newly built and modern, but the room we chose wasn’t available. We were moved to another one that was also promised to have a French bed. Two beds pushed together don’t make a French bed. The lights didn’t work. Reception said they’d take a look, but didn’t fix them straight away and didn’t seem to care much. We had to ask for slippers, and only the second staff member said we could have them. A total rip-off. We’ll never return, and we’re telling people not to bother going.

The food was varied enough and tasty, and the staff were nice and helpful. We stayed four days in a mobile home at JUFA hotel celldomolk, and the accommodation was what we expected, with no problems. The thermal baths were small and quite cold, with only three saunas operating, and we expected more variety in the pools and wellness options. They also closed earlier than advertised, at 18:30. The bill for drinks at checkout was an unpleasant surprise, because we were charged for drinks we hadn’t had. There were several of us and one person paid for everything, so it wasn’t possible to check the charges at checkout. Apart from the first day, we also weren’t given a copy of the order to sign on the following days. Definitely don’t put anything on the room bill. Pay directly instead.
