I’d avoid this place.

For the price, it’s not bad. The location is good, equipment is adequate, the landlord is nice, and the toilet and bathroom are fine. But the furniture is heavily worn, with fronts or drawers coming off, and several electrical sockets are missing their plastic covers, which could be dangerous. There are no curtains, which suits people raised in the Real World, I suppose. The chairs are overdue for replacement.

I called on August 12, 2024 to confirm we’d arrive at the agreed time, and was told indifferently that the apartment wasn’t available and we should find somewhere else. This was after I’d booked it for four people for one night, August 19/20, 2024, through Szállás.hu on January 4, 2024, and received immediate confirmation by email. I had also phoned the provider right away, and they confirmed the reservation and asked me to pay the amount in the email in cash at check-in. We never received any written or phone notice that the apartment had been rented to someone else, even though I pointed out that we had written confirmation. Please be very careful about booking here. This provider can’t be relied on. I’ll take the matter to the higher authorities. To me, this was an inhumane scam!

The furniture was worn and coming apart, and there were hairs left by the previous guest here and there. The curtain was half torn, and the air conditioning didn’t work, even though it was included in the price. I booked through Booking.com, where I always book, and the listing mentioned air conditioning without saying it cost extra. The young man later told me that on the phone when I complained. We stayed one night as a family of four, and won’t come back. The owner’s supposed son greeted us in a friendly way. The place is on the ground floor of a fairly good condition, new apartment building in a prime part of Debrecen, with shady leafy trees around it, but the other signs weren’t encouraging. I could see it suiting young people out partying, but not families at all. It’s a shame guests are treated this way. It’s bad advertising, and the price doesn’t match what’s offered.
