Malom Hotel és Étterem

The friendly, helpful staff made our stay more pleasant, but overall I'd call the experience average. I was there with my family on a business trip. The rooms were acceptable, though they need some renovation, particularly the quite outdated bathroom. Cleanliness was fine, nothing remarkable. We found parking a bit difficult because there are so few spaces. The location isn't bad, but the city center is closer to a 20-minute walk than the advertised 10. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was decent but nothing special. Breakfast was a letdown, with a very limited choice and below-average quality. Based on the online reviews I'd read before we arrived, I think the hotel is somewhat overhyped. It's basic and has potential if it gets some updates and improves its dining services.

The old mill setting is very cool, and the hotel is a good price. Our room was spacious, and the AC came in handy. Parking was good, with options in the courtyard and outside. The reception gentlemen was kind and efficient. Breakfast was rich and tasty, served in a nice restaurant dining area. It's a 25-minute walk to the city center. Some furniture is worn out, and the bathroom could use better lighting, though that was minor. The bigger issue was poor noise isolation. We heard neighbors, hotel staff, and the outside boulevards, and the ventilation system made an unpleasant noise every few hours even with the AC off.

The reception staff were very courteous and friendly, and they're a real asset to this beautiful facility. I'd give it 3*, a good rating, rather than 2* because of their service. But it no longer feels like a 4*. A good 3*, yes. Breakfast was my biggest concern, and I reported it at reception. Some mornings there was water with lemon, other times there wasn't, and the choice of food varied. The way it was served and the quality of the products didn't make you want to eat. At 8:50 a.m., we ordered waffles three times for three people, but the waiter said there was only one portion and brought it over undercooked. The restaurant, as I wrote in my review on the restaurant profile, leaves a lot to be desired. Room cleaning was inconsistent too. Every day the maids did it differently: one time the bed was covered, another time it wasn't, and on another day you couldn't tell the cleaning staff had been there. Towels were changed on request. I wish the owners would take an interest in this place. It's very nice, and it's a pity that the rest doesn't match.

The place was clean, the food was very good, and everyone working here was so nice and friendly. I honestly highly recommend it to all travelers.
