My daughters loved seeing all the animals. The place was clean and tidy, the price was good, and the service adequate. Bea was a very nice, helpful host. We had to ask for towels, but got them when we did. Saturday's construction work didn't wake my children, thankfully. Half the bed linen smelled as if it hadn't dried properly.

The owners were helpful, and there's a little mini-zoo in the yard. It seemed like good value for a guesthouse. In our room, the bathroom toilet had been placed too high by the plumbing and heating engineer. With the sloping ceiling so close, it was a bit awkward for a man of average height.

It's inexpensive and quiet, the rooms have bathrooms, and it could be a good place to stay. The cleanliness was awful, though. The microwave, dishes, glasses, and cutlery were all dirty, and we had to mop both our room and the shared area as soon as we arrived. Good thing we'd brought our own cot!

The room we got didn't even look like the pictures we'd booked from online. The bed linen wasn't clean, while the bed and furniture were beyond reproach. The bathtub was so coated in limescale that we didn't want to use it, and there wasn't a toilet brush either. It was a disappointing stay. Anyone going should make sure they clarify what they'll get for their money.
