It felt like stepping into a fairytale, and we hated having to leave. The accommodation is beautiful, spotless and equipped with everything. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The village has a calm, authentic feel despite the bustle, and I fell for it more than once ❤️❤️❤️ We had a wonderful family weekend here, with beautiful countryside, great activities and high-quality accommodation. Everything was arranged for our comfort, including the option to order a special breakfast or a delicious meal prepared by a quality chef and delivered to the guesthouse. There are brilliant things to do, with providers working together across Nógrád. We went for a wine dinner or castle tour at Prónay Castle, a truffle tour and cooking with Szarvasgombász Kutyáké, and a cultural evening with Katona Csaba at the Óvóhely in Rétság. Note that the Óvóhely is only open once a month.

We went for the lavender harvest and picked lavender in the garden beside the guesthouse, then rested under a shady tree. In that lovely setting we tried freshly made lavender lemonade, and there was also lavender flower plum jam for sale. It’s a pleasant outing in the hills of Nógrád, with fresh air, tasteful accommodation and kind hosts. A really nice way to unwind and feel good. Hurry, the harvest is still on today!
