The owner made us feel at home, always ready with helpful advice and support. He was incredibly kind and warm. We spent a few days here and were very pleased: the apartment was clean, well equipped, and in a great location. We’d happily return and recommend it.

The pool is a problem too: the lighting doesn’t work, and leaning on its edge left my back blue. The grill was out of order, the stove took maybe half an hour to heat water, and showering hurt because the shower stung. The fridge looked like it belonged in a dump, and an ice pop in the freezer reliably thawed within two hours. Rooms are small, with no air conditioning unless you pay €4 for five hours, and even then it doesn’t work. The fee isn’t refundable. There are no window screens, so opening the windows means swarms of mosquitoes and an unbearable room. Curtains are dirty and leaky, the carpet seemed never to have been vacuumed, and the furniture is worn. There are anthills on the terrace and broken chairs. The nearby pub doesn’t cook, and despite the summer bar, it only opens at night. Even on a two-week stay, you won’t get clean towels or cleaning.

The beach is about 1.5 km away, and while that’s a bit far to walk with everything you need, it’s worth driving there. Parking is free and plentiful, and the water stays shallow for a long way, making it very safe. There’s a lifeguard, plus lots for children: small jumping platforms, water volleyball, basketball hoops, bikes, a big playground, food stalls, a pool with a slide, and other attractions. At the guesthouse, the host is friendly and clearly cares about the guests and keeping the whole area, including the pool, clean. His dedication shows. He also has a pub next door that serves coffee and alcohol.

We moved here from another place nearby, two adults and a child, after seeing the positive reviews. One phone call was enough to arrange everything in advance, and it all went as agreed. On arrival, the place was clean and tasteful, and we were greeted with a smile. The host is flexible and always available, and gave us local tips whenever we asked. The attic rooms and windows are well insulated, so there’s no problem up there if you want air conditioning. There’s indoor parking, including a covered spot, and the shady garden and pool are kept clean and tidy. In the evening, the little bar’s cocktail terrace is cozy, and good conversation comes with a drink if you’re open and friendly too. For the price, the accommodation seems hard to beat. What would be a real shame is if mass tourism pushed out human-scale places like this, along with their hosts.
