Garzon Pláza

The spa, indoor pool, and hot tub were fantastic, and breakfast was superb. I was satisfied with the hotel’s service. The standard room I booked was okay, but didn’t feel worthy of four stars. The apartments are probably better furnished. It was a big drawback for me that they don’t accept American Express, which surprised me for a hotel expecting business travelers.

My car broke down on the way to the hotel, leaving me delayed for two days. Even though I was past the free-cancellation period, the staff understood and let me cancel without a charge. I later tried to book again, but they were sold out. I’m grateful for how they handled it, and I’ll book there as soon as I get the chance.

After a ten-hour drive, we arrived just before midnight and were told dogs weren’t allowed in the room we’d booked. We had specifically searched for hotels that accepted dogs, and the room had cost around 70 euros. After some discussion, they offered a different room for nearly 100 euros extra. We found a competitor’s room for 70 euros instead, and now this hotel won’t refund our money. What a joke.

I’m very disappointed. The rules about dogs in rooms aren’t clear. I searched for a room with a dog and the hotel accepted it, but when we got there around midnight, they said dogs weren’t allowed in that type of room. It felt like a joke, and the staff weren’t nice about it. I left without seeing the room I’d booked; from the general look, it didn’t seem very nice anyway. Parking costs extra.
