That breakfast music was fantastic, one of my best hotel experiences, easily 10/10! The scrambled eggs were delicious, with different extras each day, and there were buns plus American pancakes or milk porridge. But breakfast overall fell short. There was a decent spread, though some things were oddly missing, and the setup was awkward: mayonnaise, ketchup, sugar, cocoa, and jam sat together in little bowls where they could easily get mixed up. You had to boil water yourself in a kettle for tea, which was already prepared but tasted like it might have been made from powder. No fruit juice either. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the city and surrounding area are beautiful. Körös beach was especially lovely, and we spent a lot of time walking there. Still, cleanliness was one of the biggest problems. The room walls were dirty, and the sheets and towels had brownish stains that clearly looked like blood. They changed them when we asked, but the replacement towels had similar marks. The wellness area is at the far end of the garden and only reachable through the courtyard. The water was 16-17 degrees, despite the description, so we couldn't use it. The covered part is half open at night. We did try the jacuzzi, which worked. One other thing: staff persuaded us to pay the hotel 2,000 forints a day for parking in an open yard lot, but didn't mention that parking nearby is free. Even with the kind staff, a lot was missing for us to feel comfortable.

Edina really won us over, and the whole staff were warm, helpful, and kind. We liked our stay at Amfora pension, and it was clean enough for us. We were happy with everything and would use the service again.

We arrived at the Pension on October 14th after a three-hour trip with our 1.5-year-old daughter, and the place was freezing. It was around ten degrees outside and there was no heating, so we decided to leave with the children. They had also told us when we booked the gifted stay that no rooms were available unless we paid another 24,000 HUF, which would give us a separate jacuzzi with unlimited use. That jacuzzi was in awful shape. The water smelled terrible, and there was obvious algae. I think a sample would likely have shown lots of bacteria. The other guests didn't use the big jacuzzi either, because it stung their skin when they got in. They say you need to bring your own towel or pay for one, but what was there was a disaster. We complained and wrote in the complaint book. I also put up a TikTok video, only naming the accommodation in the comments after people asked. It got 100,000 views, and the owner had it taken down from my account. How are people supposed to share an honest opinion? They should spend more time looking after the pension than scrolling through TikTok.
