Hellasz Apartman is a nice place to stay in Gyula, and we highly recommend it for a holiday. It's very close to the Gyulai Várfürdő aquatic center. The host gave us a warm welcome and helpful tips on things to do around the city, including attractions and good restaurants.

We paid for a clean two-bedroom apartment, but got a dirty one-bedroom place, with the living-room couch turned into a bed. That was really unpleasant for two couples spending NYE there. We found mouse droppings in a kitchen bowl and a spider web in our bedroom. We were traveling as a group, and many of the others were put up at a different location, which was unpleasant too. I wanted to let people know we got less than we paid for. The fact that multiple owners share this location isn't my concern. The owners should think carefully about who they do business with. I know this was the place we stayed, and I can send photos by email since I can't upload them here. I hope this helps others choose accordingly.
