After paying online, I was charged double during my stay. Then, after checkout, receptionist Bus Istvan ran after me in the parking lot, saying they hadn't charged for the minibar. There was no written information in the room saying it wasn't included in the “All inclusive” stay I'd paid for, and he hadn't mentioned it at check-in or checkout. The staff generally don't speak proper English well enough to have a conversation throughout the building. The room had cobwebs everywhere and a leaky bathroom ceiling. I'm exhausted from trying to make it a nice weekend. I travel a lot, and this was the most disappointing and disrespectful hotel I've ever stayed at. Receptionist Bus Istvan shouldn't be in the hotel business if he doesn't know how to speak and interact with customers. Try a different place nearby.

The food was delicious, and the friendly, attentive staff made us feel welcome. Our beautiful room had incredibly comfortable beds, so we slept well. Everything seemed set up for relaxing, and direct access to the thermal baths and aquapark was a fantastic bonus. We had an incredible stay at Hungest Hotel in Gyula and will definitely return.

A very nice hotel with lots of pools and a spa.

We stayed three nights, and our room was never cleaned. They didn't even take out the trash. At dinner on Saturday, we couldn't get a drink because we couldn't find a waiter to take our order. Most staff were clearing tables, and the couple serving drinks couldn't get our attention. We also waited 20 minutes in line for a cocktail at the lobby bar, where there was only one bartender. Drinks cost extra and aren't included in the rate. For nearly 300 eur/night for a small family, I expected good service. This used to be our favorite hotel in Hungary, so we're very disappointed. Now it feels like a very expensive 3-star hotel.
