The hotel was lovely, especially clean and beautiful, and it’s in a great location. The receptionists didn’t speak English, which was the one drawback, but they tried to answer all our questions with Google Translate. We’ll definitely return.

The room itself was clean, nicely vintage, fairly spacious, and had a comfortable bed. But there were several problems during our stay. The staff didn’t speak English, which made things difficult. Our room’s air-conditioning wasn’t working. We told reception, and they restarted the unit, but that didn’t fix it. Nobody seemed interested in sorting it out, which was especially inconvenient on a hot day. With the window open, street noise and mosquitoes came in. Breakfast was low quality and a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The pancakes came with a cheap, tasteless spread rather than Nutella. The double room had a small balcony with just one chair and no room for another, facing a tall grey wall.

We booked the honeymoon suite for its jacuzzi, but it didn’t work during our one-night stay. The guesthouse only told us about the issue when we arrived, even though they had called ahead to ask us to get there by 6 pm because reception would otherwise be empty. That felt unacceptable and, to me, deceptive. The room itself was nice and had an okay vintage style, but after the way this was handled, I’d skip the guesthouse next time. We also couldn’t get any discount for the missing service.

I really liked the vintage look of the hotel. The room was comfortable and well equipped, and it’s a great place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

A lovely, clean hotel with friendly staff. Definitely deserving of five stars, and I highly recommend it.
