We had a really lovely weekend. The rooms stayed pleasantly cool, the bathroom was clean, and the grounds were beautifully kept.

The neighbor who was there played loud music all day, so it felt like a full-on festival. The next morning, someone started mowing the whole lawn in the yard in front of the accommodation as our wake-up call. The cleanliness was way below acceptable. Everything felt sticky and was covered in cobwebs, and I didn't dare use the kitchen appliances because I was worried one of those machines from the previous century might hurt me. You don't expect a place to be spotless, but cleanliness should start somewhere. And the owners' manners and attitude left a lot to be desired, to put it mildly.

After we reported what happened, Booking contacted the host and told us he wouldn't accept us, so Booking found us somewhere else. If you're booking here, I'd suggest contacting the host right away, in case he changes his mind and asks for more money when you arrive. We'd booked this place on Booking for New Year's Eve and called the host because we had a few questions. The woman we spoke to first said she'd forgotten to raise the price before our booking, so she'd let us book it too cheaply and would need extra payment. She then put us in touch with her husband to discuss the details. He immediately asked us for an advance payment, saying he'd had guests book before and then not show up. We pointed out that Booking hadn't mentioned any advance payment, but he still said he wouldn't give us the accommodation for the booked price. He brought up various reasons, including fireworks and alcohol consumption. We referred him to our Booking reservation, but he said he wasn't interested.

Everything was great! We'll definitely be back!
