We stayed on after the first night because the spa and Lake Balaton were nearby, though the accommodation didn’t meet the standard we expected from the photos and reviews. We’d say it’s better suited to summer. We used a Feldobox voucher, but December was the only time we could go. The owner was very friendly, yet there were several drawbacks: the shower water wasn’t hot, cleanliness could have been better, and the bed was especially uncomfortable. The sofa mattresses were thin and kept slipping around, and the bedding looked old. We tried lighting the fireplace for the atmosphere, but smoke came back into the room, so we stopped. There were other ways to heat the room, and it was pleasantly warm.

It was a pleasure spending time in the house and yard. The place is peaceful, well equipped, and put together with care. Outside, there’s greenery everywhere and birds singing all around. The locals are friendly too. There’s a little pub that doesn’t show on the map, plus a café not far from the accommodation. The host was relaxed and easygoing: he handed us the key, said we could talk at the end, and told us to get in touch if we needed anything. Thank you!

We loved the animals and the little pond full of frogs most of all. There were rabbits, hens, a rooster, goats, and a friendly cat, and our two-year-old son was delighted to visit and pet them whenever he wanted. The place was wonderful for our family, and he didn’t want to leave. The yard has a huge sandbox packed with toys, a little slide, small motorbikes, a ball, and cute football goals. There’s also a seating area at the back set up for grilling, with charcoal, firewood, and a lighter provided. The accommodation was clean and tidy, just as we’d hoped, and the owner was friendly and kind. A quiet, beautiful spot close to nature, with birdsong all around. I’d happily recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break, with or without children.
