Hotel Helikon

The setting by Lake Balaton was lovely, with beautiful lake views, and the train station is conveniently close. I also liked having an adults-only terrace where I could relax in peace. The hotel felt pleasantly uncrowded during my visit, and the atmosphere was laid-back. Breakfast and dinner were consistently excellent, with lots of tasty choices, good wines, and pálinka. The wellness area was another highlight, especially the sauna sessions with a fantastic, friendly male instructor who made them feel special.

Breakfast with a lake view, especially in the morning, was a highlight. The food was excellent, and the buffet had options for little ones too. There’s a kiddie pool as well. The hotel is right beside the lake and has a lovely view.

The rooms were spotless, spacious, and smelled lovely. I’d actually like to know what fragrance you use, because that scent throughout the hotel adds such a nice atmosphere. The staff were kind, welcoming, and attentive, and the luxurious interior really felt worthy of its 4 stars. I loved the wellness area, which is large and beautifully designed, and the pool was great. The saunas were exceptional, with huge glass windows looking straight out over Lake Balaton. Cold plunge tubs are available indoors and outdoors too. The food was better than I expected, with a wide range of European dishes, both savory and sweet, so there’s something for everyone. The gastronomy is at a very high level. It was a wonderful short stay from beginning to end, and the staff made it so enjoyable. I haven’t stayed somewhere this comfortable and beautiful in a long time. Everything is clean, spacious, and pleasantly scented. The surroundings are gorgeous, and I could easily imagine staying for two weeks and running or cycling around Lake Balaton. Thank you! 😊

The spa is amazing, with pools and saunas, and the staff were friendly and polite. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the location right by the beach on Balaton lake is top notch. Definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back.
