The owner is really kind, and the accommodation is perfectly placed near Balaton. If you'd like to have a beer with him, go ahead.

It's a dog-friendly place, and the host was kind, flexible, and ready to help. The style feels more retro than sleek or modern. The beds are comfortable and the linens clean. There's a kettle and coffee maker, plus enough suitable kitchenware to put together a quick, simple lunch or dinner.

We've been staying here for two years. Both beaches are nearby, and so are the old town, shops, and restaurants. There's plenty of equipment and amenities. I saw a review complaining about the lack of air conditioning, but Keszthely gets warm, even very hot, in summer. That's to be expected when you travel somewhere hot to enjoy the sun. If you want a cool room, Finland or Iceland might suit you better.

It's peaceful here, with WiFi and a kitchen that has all the necessary appliances. The beach is around a 15-minute walk away, though you can drive or cycle there. Laszlo is a friendly owner who speaks English, German, and Russian, and he lends bicycles and locks for free. My one drawback was that there's no air conditioning.
