The host was kind, and the room had kitchenware, a microwave and a fridge.

One of the apartments hadn't been cleaned properly, and towels were missing. The owner didn't acknowledge the mistake or show much humility. My siblings and I had agreed on rooms in the same place, but instead we were split between two buildings. One of us has a small child, so we couldn't leave them alone after bedtime, and the distance meant we couldn't spend the evening together. We live in different parts of the country and rarely get to meet, so staying under one roof mattered a lot to us.

The staff were open, friendly and polite, and the owners were lovely too. We brought our cat, who felt right at home. Our room was clean and a decent size, in a very quiet spot close to the spa. Comfortable and just right for relaxing. Five stars.

There was dirt, crumbs and a lot of hornets, and the welcome wasn't what I'd expected. I think there may have been a nest the owners hadn't cleared away. The hornets were huge, and one stung me. What a great time I had.
