Blues Ryokan

A great place to stay, with a friendly owner.

We arrived late at night and had nowhere else to stay, but I wouldn’t have chosen this place otherwise. The owner brought the key and opened up; after we went upstairs, he rushed to switch on the radiators and a heater sitting on the floor, which was described as being “on the wall.” The room was cold. The bathroom was filthy, and a notice there said not to put toilet paper in the toilet. The kitchen was dirty too, with dried coffee in the pot. Only the bedding smelled clean. I didn’t take photos, and that’s all I’ll say about it for now. I can’t recommend this place to anyone. I saw the reply saying my review was false. Three of us stayed there, but the owner asked for only one ID. What I’ve written is true, word for word, and I haven’t even included everything yet. The receptionist was a “pimp,” and the whole place was dirty. We didn’t even want to go in.

We were very happy with our one-night stay in Keseg. The host was especially caring: even though it was mid-June, the weather was chilly and rainy, so they turned on the heating for us. The house warmed up, then the radiators had cooled by the middle of the night, so it never felt stuffy. In the morning, we noticed the host’s T-shirt had the Ukrainian coat of arms on it, a lovely sign of support. The old house has a lot of charm, with vintage pieces and fresh flowers in every room. Our room was clean, and the place itself is cozy, with a green courtyard right in the city center.

We brought our dog along, and he was happy there too. There’s a sweet little garden outside, and our room was great value. The owner was really kind and helpful. If we’re back in Kőszeg, we’ll definitely stay here again. ☺️
