We had an okay stay, and the location worked well, with easy parking and a nice park nearby. Breakfast was decent: not many pastries, but the ones there were good quality. The internet was slow. Our first room smelled of smoke, though the staff quickly moved us to a larger room with a huge bathroom. There was no kettle or coffee machine, and our room faced the central AC units, which could get very loud, including at night. The service itself was good.

This was the most horrible experience I’ve had in Hungary. The food is unacceptable, and the hotel doesn’t take customer complaints seriously. They act as if they know best what’s okay, which feels like an impudent joke. The quality seems stuck in the 1980s. Stay away.

My holiday was ruined, and I’m very sorry about this trip. The hotel had a bad smell, the staff seemed unprofessional, and there was a racist aura that made me feel unwelcome as a foreigner. At breakfast, the big boss followed me around and checked everything I ate and drank. The wellness and spa hours were bad, and there were hidden fees on everything we bought. They said car parking was free, but charged us at checkout, and there was nothing we could do about it. Thank you, Bastya Hotel and staff.

I’m from Brighton, the United Kingdom, and found the hotel amazing. It’s in an idyllic spot and is the closest accommodation to the Cave Bath. We felt like we were in heaven in the exquisite wellness area. The food tasted just like home, and the staff were polite, kind, and always glad to help. Highly recommended, A+++ service! At Hotel Bastya, breakfast was quite good and had a nice range of options, but dinner was absolutely terrible. Most of the food was barely edible. We had a half-board package, yet they charged for every drink, including water, without warning us beforehand. That felt misleading and left us very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend eating here unless you’re ready for unexpected charges.
