The accommodation is reasonably priced.

The prices are fair, and so is the food.

The service team is nice, and we usually come by for lunch, more often to get food to go. It’s self-service. The value and the food can be hit or miss, though we’ve had good experiences too. If you arrive on time, there’s a choice of food and it’s still hot.

The coffee was delicious, though it only comes in capsules and costs 480 forints. The bathroom was fairly clean, with an old-school feel, but the sign on the door didn’t help the atmosphere. Lunch was a letdown: the staff seemed a bit surly, and apart from the daily specials, the rest felt overpriced. The price-value ratio is terrible. The chef should learn how to cook rice, because it’s a waste unless you order from the canteen. Soup with a second course, pickles and coffee came to just under 4000 forints.

I left feeling cheated, even if it wasn’t cheating in the strict sense. I asked for a menu with a small soup, then a main course. The large menu was 2200 forints and came with a dry sausage stuffed with onion and cheese, plus fries. I saw some fresh-looking fried slices beside it and asked the woman if I could get one sausage and one fried slice instead of the two stuffed sausages in the large menu. She politely said, “Of course!” But at the cashier I was told the total was 4350 forints. The soup was 520 and the cola was 430, if I remember right. They’d charged me for two small menus, plus the circuit, because choosing two different meats, the dry sausage and the fried slice, apparently counted as two small menus instead of one large. That pushed the price from 2200 to 3200. The woman could have explained that when I asked. If I’d had enough money, I could’ve bought the whole shop and its employees, as the saying goes. The figures might be off by a few forints, but they’re close enough to compare. For about 4350, I got medium-quality canteen food. Everything fried tasted the same from too much oil, and the soup seemed to be there just to make the menu include something liquid. Nothing wrong with that kind of food, just not at that price. There’s no value for money here. I could eat à la carte at any restaurant in town for the same amount and get something delicious. Looking back, I should’ve left, but there were a lot of people behind me and I didn’t want to make a scene, even though it would’ve been justified. I won’t be going back. Pay attention to the details, because that’s where they make a lot of profit.
