Lyceum Apartman

We were looking forward to a week of rest in Pécs, but left early because we were so disappointed. Before booking, we made clear that free parking mattered to us. Our host reassured us that they had arranged for us to use the garage in the building. To our surprise, we couldn't even drive into the street without a permit, which would have cost 4,000 forints per day. We had to leave the car in an unattended paid lot a 15-minute walk away, for 800 forints a day. It felt awful not being able to check on the car at night. And at eight months pregnant, in 35-degree heat, I had to walk between the car and the accommodation with bags and groceries. The room was unbearably hot and we slept badly. We knew there was no air conditioning, but didn't expect the apartment to be this hot. We could only open the terrace door, not a window. The terrace looked like a dream place to relax in the photos, but the plaster was crumbling and the area was neglected, with leaves scattered around, branches hanging over, and unwanted things carelessly tossed in a corner. Inside, the bathtub and TV were so tiny they were almost ridiculous. We weren't laughing at the size, though, we were just stunned. When we told the host we'd only stay two nights, they said we had to pay because our leaving would be a loss for them. But having to spend money on fuel and parking was a loss for us too. It wasn't really about the money, it was the disappointment and feeling stuck. We're sorry.
