Beach Hotel

The staff at both the hotel and Johnny's Bistro were kind and helpful. Breakfast costs extra and is served in the restaurant below the hotel, with good options to start the day. It’s also easy to reach the lakeside and the nearby market, and Siófok center is about a 15-minute walk away. The downsides were the upkeep and the price. We paid just over 225.000 Ft for a week, and although it’s one of the cheaper hotels in the area, I expected better for that amount. The toilet seat was broken, the shower drain smelled like rotting hair, and parking was very tight. It can also get busy and noisy at night from club music and the market crowds, so it may not work well if you want to sleep in the evening.

The staff were welcoming and kind, and the room was quite spacious, with a fridge, TV, desk, wardrobe, several power sockets, and a comfortable balcony with an outdoor table, three chairs, and a clothes rack. The room and bathroom were okay, but it was too hot, and the air conditioning only had an on and off setting. There was just one chair inside despite the room being for three people. Power cut off as soon as we left, so charging a phone or anything else wasn’t possible while we were out. Still, considering how inexpensive it was, I can’t complain too much.

The food was very good, especially the lasagne with extra tomato sauce. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, though the coffee was horrible. The staff were friendly, and the room was huge and clean, even if the bathroom was a bit worn. The location was good too. I was happy there, and my little one enjoyed our holiday.

We were satisfied with our stay. The pool was great, and the place was very clean; the restaurant serves Western food, though local-food lovers may not find what they want. The staff were helpful, but nobody spoke English. It sits right on the main promenade amid serious nightlife, so it's not a good pick if you're after peace and quiet.
