Hotel Euro

We had a large yard with plenty of parking, and there was even a ping pong table. The gentleman on duty the next day was kind and understanding. The terrace and bathroom were fine too. I was glad to find a place at the last minute, and it was handy that we could pay part of the bill in euros. But the accommodation smelled bad, though I only noticed it at the entrance. They had no small change and could barely put together what they owed us. Service was poor. We booked a room with a double bed and a bunk bed, but got two double beds pushed together. We were there with close friends, so being side by side and having only 10 centimeters between us wasn't a problem. Still, this place is only good for a day at most.

For at least a decade, we've come here several times each summer. The beach is nearby, and the place has been clean, flexible, guest focused, easy to access, and good for parking. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Though plenty of people already do, and then there's no room for me next time ;-) ***** Sadly, it was sold in the middle of the season (2019.06.30.)! The new owner kept it for his own and "friendly" use, taking away "friendly price, cultured" holidays from at least 44 people a day and giving up about 2 months of income. *****

The kitchen feels retro, and we're expected to scrape the leftovers into a bag. They get angry if I leave anything on the plate. Toilets keep running, the shower leaks, and there's urine on the room floor that needs a lot of wiping. Management acts innocent, then does it anyway.

We paid just 35 euros for one night, and the hotel's best feature is its location near Lake Balaton. The room was incredibly cramped, and the bathroom was worse: the toilet sits right by the door, so it's hard to sit properly with the door almost touching the bowl. The room's cleanliness was second to none. Good thing we stayed only one night.
