The owner was still asleep downstairs when the fuse blew at 7:30 in the morning after we plugged in a kettle. Power came back around 9:30, then someone plugged in a kettle again at 9:40. There was no apology, just a complaint about which outlet we’d used. There were 16 of us on the floor, and I asked whether I was supposed to speak up when I didn’t even speak their language. The whole place was awful. The rooms were tiny, with four beds squeezed into 10 square meters, and there were no cupboards or towels. The fridge was moldy, there was no hot water, the TV worked only sometimes, and we got onto the Wi-Fi on the tenth try. The toilet seat was held on with wire, and the tent roof over the bathtub meant I couldn’t stand up in it. The window was handkerchief-sized and barely opened, and there was no clothes dryer. Two bathrooms per floor and one toilet for 16 guests made everything crowded. The walls were paper-thin, and every square meter of the garden had been built over with things like an outbuilding and a caravan. All the room doors and the bathroom opened with the same numbered 40 key, like a master key. I could barely get a bill. They said it was VAT-free, paid by a private person, and asked if printing the reservation would be enough. They also tried to charge IFA for the children.

The staff were nice and helpful, and it’s a friendly place. But the room had no AC, and a fan would’ve helped. There was a lot of noise, with cars arriving until midnight, taxis honking, and people heading to parties. About 20 young people were partying next door.

I haven’t stayed there before, but it’s at the end of the street. It seems like a good-quality, relaxing holiday home.
