Villa Oliver 1 Siófok

Our apartment had a garden with a bbq area and a parking space, and the A/C worked. It was quite clean, and the two bedrooms each had their own bathroom. This review is about Villa Oliver 2. The garden seemed rather neglected, and the sun loungers were pretty dirty. The house is right in front of a train line and a major road. Kitchen equipment was limited: knives, cutlery, and plates were there, but no wine or beer glasses, and the Ceran cooktop was chipped. One bedroom was small, and the bed was positioned so you could only get into it from the foot. The shower head could only be used handheld. There was just one towel per person and no hairdryer in the bathroom or anywhere else.

The host greeted us nicely, but be aware of the extra charge. I had booked a one-bedroom apartment through booking.com. The website listed the right price for a maximum of four guests, yet we were charged an extra €15. We were told it was because the apartment fits two people and each additional guest costs £15. This hadn’t been explained beforehand, so we’d made plans based on the booking confirmation. The walls are thin too, and we could hear every movement upstairs. Might be worth considering before you book here.

The night is what sticks with me most: warm late-April weather, a sky full of stars, and nightingales singing all night, probably from the neighboring yards. Unforgettable. At vila Oliver 1, the terrace, clean room, and comfortable bed were all positives. Breakfast was a letdown, with nothing hot and everything packed from the supermarket. There wasn't any coffee for the room's coffee maker, either, and the checkout time was another downside.

The air conditioning was superb, and we liked the mattress and the outdoor area. The lake is very close, so it works for a brief stopover. The rooms are starting to look worn, and the shower room and bathroom weren't very clean when we arrived. The Wi-Fi wouldn't work on any of our devices unless we were within 10 metres of the accommodation. The shower floor flooded every time we used it: the enclosure is open on one side, and its only drain is inside the shower.
