The room walls did nothing to block noise from other guests at night. I could hear everything they were doing. Breakfast was just as bad: the kitchen staff figured two peppers and 4 small tomatoes would feed six people. There was no vegetarian food, not even eggs. Staff stood over us and hurried us along so they could clear the table for the next guests, since the dining room has only six seats. I don’t see how this place can call itself a four-star hotel. It’s far too expensive for the way customers are treated, like a herd of cows. I’d written in English, but the hotel contacted me in Hungarian. I understood that a late arrival would be fine, but when I got there the receptionist was rude and indignant, and kept speaking Hungarian. We’d agreed I’d pay by card, yet she told me to get cash from an ATM. I also had to open the gate myself for the other car. My colleague arrived an hour later because he’d been held up longer at the Serbian border.

The location is really good, within walking distance of the city center, and there’s a safe place to park in the yard. The lady was nice and check-in was quick. But our room had stale air and worn furnishings, and the bathroom was in the same condition. It could use a facelift. The place isn’t unacceptable, but the price for what you get isn’t great.

We’re so grateful to our hosts at Tímárház Pension. We had a concert in Szeged this weekend and arrived as a band, with 3 extra people. They found room for all of us without any fuss and welcomed us warmly. Breakfast and the morning coffee were delicious and generous. We’ve definitely not stayed here for the last time. Wishing you continued success!

The location is quiet and close to the city center, and the lady who took our details was nice. The dog was cute too. But breakfast is what stuck in my mind. The room is tiny for the number of guests, and we only managed to eat because we arrived first. The lady put the cold cuts away BY HAND for the next guest, and everything felt rushed. She couldn’t tell me what the “homemade” jam was like. The room was very hot, and we had to put up the mosquito net ourselves. Despite the breakfast memory, I had a good experience overall.
