Gastland Hotel Átrium ***

The breakfast buffet had very little choice, the menu was limited, and there was no ketchup. On our last day, there was no butter either, and the coffee was cold. The TV only had Hungarian channels, with no German ones, and none of the doors closed properly, even the toilet door. The staff were friendly and very helpful, but the owner came downstairs in his pajamas, made coffee, and didn't even say good morning. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this hotel.

Átrium hotel is now just a rental building, and I live here as a tenant. Everyone who moves in gets one room with a bathroom, nothing more. There is just one kitchen and washing machine for the whole building, shared by everyone. I don't think it was any better when it was still a hotel, either. It went bankrupt for a reason. Apart from a restaurant and sauna, there was only a striptease bar. Who is interested in that? A hotel without a thermal bath, massage, or similar offerings is hardly surprising to see go bankrupt.

The attic room was small and dirty, with a tiny window and no air conditioning in temperatures over 35°C. We booked for three, but there was only one bed and the extra bed wouldn't fit. We left two days early and still had to pay for the whole stay, even if you leave on the same day you checked in.

The hotel has really beautiful architecture, but it needs someone with money to renovate it. The place felt a bit run-down, and the bread at breakfast was stale. I personally didn't like that, and it left me feeling unwelcome as a guest.
