The duck was cooked just right, with a traditional side that tasted exactly as it should. The kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing. Still, the bill came to almost €50 per person with wine and water, which feels too expensive. Across the Balaton, you can get the same level of cooking, plus goose liver, for half that. In this case, the location doesn’t make up the difference.

The rooms are basic, and the bathrooms were very dirty. Breakfast was a joke and completely inedible. Staff barely speak anything besides Hungarian. They also charge extra for things like air conditioning, even when it’s part of your deal. This is a restaurant with a few rooms, and parties go on late into the night. They don’t seem to care that guests are trying to sleep. Think twice before using it as a bed and breakfast. Only for the brave with low standards.

The staff were helpful, and the place worked well for an overnight stay. There’s private parking, air conditioning, a TV, and Lidl and a petrol station nearby. The restaurant serves huge, tasty meals. It was a bit noisy. Maybe the drywall is too thin, or maybe the other guests were just too loud.

The place has a warm, friendly feel and a great drinks selection. The food is excellent, especially the high-quality game and fish dishes. I’m sure you’ll enjoy a visit.
