Patkós Motel

I came with my husband, our baby, and our dog for a few days, and we had a great time. The retro vibe brought back memories of my childhood, and the price felt very good for what we got. Once the bike path is finished, I think it’ll be a perfect spot for cycling! :-)

For 8000 HUF/2-person room/night, it was the cheapest accommodation in the area and good value. The room was clean, and the mattress was fine for sleeping. The hot water ran out after one short shower, the toilet wouldn’t flush until we realized the tap was closed, and we saw several bugs on the curtain. The window behind it wouldn’t close. There was a refrigerator in the hallway, but it wasn’t working. We also had to arrange by phone for someone to be at reception. If you want better, you’ll obviously need to look for somewhere more expensive.

We were greeted warmly in a quiet setting, and the thatched roof was a welcome shelter in the terrible heat. We used the place as a base for all our outings, including Eger, Berek, Demjén, and the Tiszató boat trip. There weren’t many facilities, but the reasonable price made up for that.

The yard is spacious and pleasant, and there’s a ping-pong table. The rooms and furniture are a little dated, but the value is very good and the staff are friendly. It also worked perfectly for a dog-friendly holiday. Lots of dogs were staying there while we were. :)
