Airport16 B&B

After all the trouble, the owner's son came to the property and handled things much more professionally. He offered a bigger, nicer room at no charge, and I appreciate that. But by then I had missed most of the night. I didn't sleep until almost 2:00am and was up at 6:00am for my 7:45am flight, feeling anxious and barely rested. This was an overnight stay from 10Mar2026 to 11Mar2026. I booked through Agoda for a noon check-in, travelling from Slovenia to Budapest. After more than six hours by train and bus, I arrived around 10:30pm, already exhausted. I was dropped about a 30-minute walk from the property and had to carry two heavy bags the whole way. The place uses self check-in. The owner had sent directions through Agoda for entering the house and getting the key to the “Red Room,” which I'd booked and paid for. I followed them, went upstairs, took the key and found the door already unlocked. A man was asleep in the bed inside. It was alarming to realize the same room had apparently been assigned to more than one person. I shut the door quickly and messaged the owner in Agoda. I also tried the phone number listed there, but couldn't get through. Agoda support was no help and offered no real assistance. I knocked loudly and called out to the man, who seemed deeply asleep. There was a bottle of alcohol on the table, suggesting he'd been drinking. I felt very unsafe, having unknowingly entered a stranger's room late at night at a place where the host seemed to have no control over room assignments. When the owner finally replied, they were dismissive. They told me to “try a different room” instead of immediately apologizing or fixing the problem, and said not to “make this a problem” when I explained how serious it was. They apologized only after I spelled out the severity. When I said I no longer felt safe and wanted to request a refund through Agoda, they offered to move me to another property but asked me to pay the price difference, even though their booking error caused this. An occupied room being given to another guest is a serious safety failure. The owner's response and Agoda's lack of support made everything worse. I'd urge travelers to be very cautious about booking here.

The room had more than most hotels, including a desk and fridge, and the service was great and super friendly. I had booked the wrong date, but they found us a room in another house and even drove us there. Flawless.

I had a reservation and was told to arrive at 10am, but nobody was there. When I called again, the guy seemed to be asleep and hung up. Further calls went unanswered, and I got no reply. Be careful booking here, they could waste your time just like they did mine.

The host was lovely and even arranged a ride to the station on our last day, which was really kind with our luggage. He checked in with us and made sure the room was okay. The nearest station is a bit of a walk into Budapest, but it's a pretty route and a nice way to warm up or wind down. There's also a closer bus stop if you don't fancy walking, and transport runs early in the morning, so getting back is easy.
