The staff were polite and respectful, but that didn't undo the overall impression. The hotel feels quite run down and needs updating. The rooms are old-fashioned and have no air conditioning; some have a fan, but only one room in every three or four seems to have one. Being near the lake may be why there are so many spiders and bugs. Cleanliness was also lacking: the bathroom tiles and shower curtains were dirty, the closets were dusty, and the carpets weren't very clean.

The lake view is the one real plus. The manager barely understood our complaint and doesn’t speak English. We asked for the faucet to be changed on 12/26, but the repair wasn’t done until 1/16.

Room 23 had air conditioning, which was great, and the place was passable since it was all we could find. Still, it felt abandoned and was far too expensive: we were quoted 40 euros for the night, but that turned out to be per person. There’s no private beach, just the lake nearby, and checkout at 10 felt too early. A lot of things looked broken for a long time, so the place clearly needs serious maintenance.

The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a nice spot to relax, even in cold weather, and there are two billiard tables plus a mini ping-pong setup for the afternoon. We were there for a small conference weekend, and the spacious conference room came in handy late at night. The hotel sits right on the shore of Velence lake, with a really lovely view and a beautiful setting. Staff were friendly, the rooms clean, and I’d recommend it for a quick getaway.

The staff are genuinely nice, but the place doesn’t feel worth the cost. Some rooms are missing things that other rooms have, and about half the stuff is broken.
