Mr. Görgey Art Hotel & Bistro

We only went to the restaurant, not the hotel, and it was a bad experience for both the food and the cost. A pizza was 4550 HUF for about 28 cm, maybe smaller, and toppings covered only half of it. We waited roughly 45 minutes or more just for someone to take our order, then another 30 minutes for three pizzas. The staff seemed unprepared for our group of over 20 and took a while to get up to speed. They do offer egg-free and lactose-free options, and the staff were very apologetic, but the overall experience was poor. They add 13% to the total bill. Whether that's too much is up to you.

There are lots of paintings in the beautiful interior, and the hotel has a charming feel. The staff were friendly.

The building looks stylish and is nicely furnished, and the staff were pleasant. It's easy to reach, and the location and building itself are lovely. Our room, though, felt incredibly small, especially the bathroom, and could use renovation. The cleaning wasn't great either, with stained bed linen in several places. The food was a letdown. Dinner was mediocre in both taste and choice, and breakfast wasn't very good, with especially dry pastries. Half-board didn't come close to feeling worth the price. The worst part of the weekend came at checkout. The receptionist said the jacuzzi would cost 18,500 forints instead of the 6,500 we'd agreed on beforehand because we'd stayed longer. Nobody had told us there would be an extra charge for that, and the service was supposed to include a bottle of drink. There hadn't been a working clock or any staff in the building that evening, and although the wellness area was meant to stay open until 9, nobody came by. After negotiating, the receptionist immediately gave us a discount, so we paid one and a half times the original quoted amount. I find this kind of treatment unacceptable and shameful. Trying to get as much money as possible from guests without telling them in advance is disgusting and repulsive. It's no surprise there are so many negative reviews. I can't recommend the accommodation, which is a shame given how beautiful the building and location are.
