Batthyány Kastélyszálló

The room was huge, clean, quiet, and full of character, and the castle itself has a lovely historic feel in a peaceful setting. The staff were warm and helpful, and having a place that welcomed my three dogs made the trip much easier. We spent four nights here, and the pool was a great way to relax after a long day at the dog show. Breakfast could have had more variety, but I loved the stay and would happily return, especially with a pet.

The rooms and hotel were spotless and well looked after, and we enjoyed the mini golf and spa. The massage was wonderful too. I didn't catch my masseuse's name, but I think both of them are good. Special thanks to the whole team at Batthyany Castle Hotel for the hospitality, and especially our Laszlo for making the place feel so cozy and welcoming. Thank you, and good luck :)

The hotel isn't accessible for disabled guests, with no wheelchair access or lifts. Staff mostly spoke German and Hungarian. Still, they were friendly and helpful, and the rooms are large, with heated floors and a handy playroom for kids. The wellness area and outdoor pool were lovely, and it's near Balaton lake. Breakfast and dinner had a great selection, especially the Halaszle. I also had a back massage, and the ladies were wonderful.

The mansion has been restored nicely, and the food is excellent, though it leans toward Hungarian tastes. That means lots of flavor, which I enjoyed, but it may not suit someone focused on very healthy food. The spa itself could be better, although there are several excellent baths and spas within a 10-15 minute drive. Worth considering for a romantic weekend if you find a good deal.
