Fürdo Hotel

We did enjoy the stay overall, and the service was adequate, but the way the Saturday event was handled left us unhappy. It took place right below our window and ran until 10 p.m. The music was so loud from 6 to 10 that we could barely hear ourselves think, with pop hits from the last 30 years playing the whole time. This could have been managed in several ways. When we asked for a quote, the event could have been mentioned, since the hotel knows the city and how well the rooms block sound. The offer could also have included a warning, a room away from the stage, a discount, or the option for us to arrive later. When we went down for help, the receptionist didn’t really look us in the eye, apologize, or try to resolve things. We were told she had called the organizers, but the music never changed and continued until the event ended, so I’m not convinced that call happened. The next day, I explained what I thought would have been an appropriate response, and we agreed she would contact hotel management. Later, we were given a small slip with the city council’s email address along with the full bill, which made me think that conversation with management never took place. There were also hairs in the shower, door handles that only worked if forced, and generally cheap-feeling details. We wouldn’t have brought any of this up if we’d been treated like partners. Given what happened, we feel it’s understandable to share our experience at length on review platforms in both English and Hungarian. Two stars from us.
