We ended up canceling and heading back to Budapest, and it felt far too expensive for what happened. We booked Saturday morning for a weekend escape from Budapest, but when we arrived at 3 p.m., nobody was there. By phone, we were told someone would return in an hour and a half and call us. We took our luggage to find food, then tried calling again, with no answer. The other places were already booked. Around 7:30 they finally called and said we could come over, without offering a discount. Since we hadn't actually stayed, we said we shouldn't pay full price. They offered a discounted room with a shared toilet, honestly. The customer service was terrible. I can't believe a business like this is still operating.

The room was clean, and it had WiFi, a TV, and a kitchenette. The house is within about 10 minutes of both the town center and the forest. The owners were kind and very helpful, with great advice, and they have a child, a cat, and a dog. You can pay with a SZÉP-card. The garden is on the small side, and there isn't much storage space in the room. The upstairs rooms aren't suitable for people with disabilities since there's no elevator.

A nice, affordable option for families or groups with kids. The staff are friendly, it's kid-friendly, and it's close to nature.

Börzsöny is beautiful, which made it all the more disappointing that the stay itself fell short. The room's condition and equipment weren't what we expected, and without mosquito nets on the windows, mosquitoes got in overnight and bit us badly. We also weren't happy with the food. Several items seemed to be frozen, which felt disappointing for the prices. The value for money didn't seem right, so I can't recommend the accommodation.
